The status of a large family will be assigned indefinitely in The Republic of Tatarstan
Today, a meeting of the Expert Council of the Interdepartmental Coordinating Committee on Legal Issues was held under the chairmanship of Justice Minister Rustem Zagidullin.
The members of the Expert Council considered a draft law concerning amendments to the republican law on targeted social support of the population and the Family Code of the Republic of Tatarstan.
On January 2, 2024, the Decree of the President of Russia «On measures of social support for large families» was issued. According to the Decree, a family with three or more children is recognized as a large family in the Russian Federation, the status of which is established indefinitely. Provision of social support measures to large families is carried out until the eldest child reaches the age of 18 or the age of 23, subject to full-time education.
Appropriate changes will be made to the republican law on targeted social support of the population and articles 150 and 152 of the Family Code of the Republic of Tatarstan. Due to the changes, the number of large families eligible for social support measures will increase, since now such measures will be provided when the eldest of the children reaches the age of 23, if he is studying full-time, and not 18, as it was before.
The bill is planned to be sent to the State Council of Tatarstan for consideration.
In addition, today, announcing a message to the Federal Assembly, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the launch of a new national project «Family».
What is proposed to be done:
extend the Family mortgage program until 2030,
extend mortgage repayment assistance at the birth of the 3rd child until 2030,
increase the tax deduction for second and subsequent children,
extend the maternity capital program at least until 2030.
«A large family with many children should become the norm. Regions with fertility rates below the national average will receive assistance - at least 75 billion rubles»,- Vladimir Putin stressed.
